The choir joined over 8000 children from across the north west to sing at Manchester Arena. This was an amazing event, the children were well behaved, sang thier hearts out and had a wondereful time. We are looking forward to going again next year!Read more
The children really enjoyed their visit to the theatre to see Prince and the Pauper. We will be using this visit to support their learning. We took over 190 children and you can see from the picture that we turned the theatre red!

We have got a wonderful new willow sculpture in the school grounds created by the willow artist Chaz Friend. He based it on a design made by Brianna in year 6. We are grateful to the Kidsgrove Rotary Club for supporting this project.Read more

The children enjoyed making up stories and pictures as they worked with the author and illustrator Steve Smallman. The work was around the story of Wind in the Willows which the children saw at The New Vic Theatre.Read more
On Tuesday 15th January, a nutirionalist from Chartwells will be coming into school to do an assembly and workshops on healthy eating and how to make healthy choices when choosing food.Read more
During the week beginning 3rd December, Springhead Primary became a theatre as we hosted The RSC First Encounter performance of The Comedy of Errors. All children in the school did work around the play and children from years 1 upwards watched the performance.

Last week children in years 5 and 6 took part in a workshop funded by Staffordshire Library Service about what life was like in Britain during World War 1. The children enjoyed working with the artists and finding out about how people coped during the war.
