Our school meals are provided by Edwards & Ward, an independent education catering company specialising in fresh, locally sourced food prepared by well‑trained teams. Their ethos focuses on wholesome, fully traceable meals and long‑term partnerships with schools, ensuring pupils receive the high‑quality dining experience they deserve.

Meal Price (from Easter 2025)

From Easter 2025, the cost of a school meal is £2.95 (N.b. Reception–Year 2 continue to receive Universal Infant Free School Meals — see below).

Menus and Dietary Needs

Edwards & Ward offer rotating seasonal menus, including vegetarian and vegan options. They can also support medically prescribed special diets. To discuss dietary requirements, please contact the school office and a member of staff will advise accordingly. Our latest menu can be seen below:

Ordering and Payment

Children select their school meal choice each morning when the class register is taken. This supports accurate meal preparation and helps reduce food waste.

Payment for school meals can be made online via ParentPay.

Free School Meals (FSM)

If you receive any of the following support payments, your child may be entitled to Free School Meals

  • Income Support
  • Income‑based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income‑related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (as long as you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run‑on (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Universal Credit

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UFSM)

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for a free school meal as part of the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) programme. 

Why Apply for FSM Even If You Receive UFSM?

Even if your child receives a meal under UFSM, please apply for means‑tested Free School Meals if you think you may be eligible. A successful FSM application may provide the school with additional funding that supports teaching, enrichment, and wellbeing.
